B Man U9 Servers, London – Manchester

For almost 100 years, Manchester United FC has played football at Old Trafford stadium which was given the nickname, ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ by Sir Bobby Charlton.  Old Trafford has been Manchester United’s home since 1910, and not only is it one of the oldest grounds in Britain, it is also one of the finest in the world with a capacity in excess of 76,000 making it one of the most atmospheric and historic stadiums in the world.

When Manchester United FC required the relocation of 9 rack mounted items from a data centre on the outskirts of London to ‘The Theatre of Dreams’, Old Trafford, Technimove were invited to quote.

Technimove’s solution

As Manchester United did not have any presence at the data centre, our team was issued with access codes to enter their enclosure. The equipment was shut down remotely by Manchester United, our team then decommissioned the equipment, de-racked, packed and relocated to Old Trafford.

As the equipment was mission critical, time was a factor. We had a, somewhat ironic, schedule of 90 minutes to have the equipment packed and loaded on to our vehicle.

On arrival at Old Trafford, our team unloaded the equipment and wheeled it to the server room. We then unpacked the equipment and presented it to Manchester United’s server team to re-rack.

A simple, yet critical, move was completed successfully and within timescales specified and Technimove were proud to have provided our service to one of England’s flagship football teams.

Technimove are a server relocation company who also specialize in Data Centre Auditing, IT Recycling, Data Centre Migration and It Asset Management.
